When my husband said months ago, “Let’s go to Vermont for the eclipse,” I was all in. I thought wearing the goofy glasses and joining others worldwide would be cool. And I love spending time together in our happy place. Why not?
I did not expect tears, chills, and silence prompted by utter awe.
I can’t find the words to describe what we just experienced. Grateful. Inspired. Mind blown. I pondered how tiny we are as beings in this infinite, extraordinary universe.
Yesterday, I marveled at the moon as it blanketed the sun. My daughter captured some of these photos while watching with friends on her college campus.
Then darkness, for a fleeting three minutes, a pause during the day while the moon cast a glow across the sky. Eerily yet peacefully quiet. Even the birds stopped chirping. The leaves stopped fluttering. As if Earth honored this moment with silence.
Magical. Mystical. Memorable.
I felt a seismic shift in my soul as I experienced the eclipse.
I let go.
I let in.
Where were you during the eclipse? What did you experience? How did it make you feel? I’d love to hear from you!
